Park Slope Classes Every Monday & Thursday NOTE: All classes are now at the new Park Slope/Prospect Heights Meditation Center with Matthew Riechers Monday Evenings 7 - 9 pm ($12 per class/ free for cardholders) Introduction to Buddhist Meditation Meditation is a simple yet profound method to improve the quality of our lives. Through following very simple, practical instructions we can learn to let go of the causes of our pain and dissatisfaction and to gain the inner peace and clarity we seek. If we understand how to meditate correctly, we will have real confidence in our practice, and results will arise effortlessly.

It would seem that we want to abandon these habits, but we continue to indulge them, as though we were trapped. Buddha’s astounding insights into the mind give us the tools to understand how and why we create compulsive patterns of behavior, and consequently how we can let go of them and create the meaningful and joyful life that we actually want.

Classes are held every week unless otherwise stated, titles TBA. Talks and guided meditations suitable for everyone. The emphasis is on integrating Buddha's teachings into our lives. Matthew Riechers is a senior teacher at Chakrasambara Buddhist Center and the Teacher of both General and Foundation Program at the Park Slope Branch. He is the Education Program Coordinator at Chakrasambara Buddhist Center where he oversees all the workshops, retreats, and classes. Insightful and humorous, he is appreciated for his clear and articulate presentation of the teachings.
